The Core Outcomes in Vascularized composite allotransplantation and Extremity Reconstruction (COVER) Project aims to establish core outcomes for research in potential candidates for and recipients of vascularized composite allotransplantation and extremity reconstruction. Vascularized composite allotransplantation refers to the transplantation of multiple tissues such as muscle, bone, nerve and skin, as a functional unit (e.g. a hand, or face) from a deceased donor to a recipient with a severe injury. Extremity reconstruction may be necessary after trauma or cancer removal.
We will conduct systematic reviews, nominal group technique, Delphi Survey, Consensus workshops with relevant stakeholders to establish core outcome domains.
